New Old Dresser!
I had the best day! I started out by waking early to thorough clean my house, organize my kitchen and bathroom, and mop all of the floors. I know, uneventful. Then I ended up downtown at the flea market along the river and at the big fabric market that is in town today from Holland. Wow, what an amazing day for me. I not only found fabrics and trims, but I found the gem I've been looking for -- a dresser for my bedroom, and it's perfect with black hardware and legs, black shelving inside for jeans and sweaters, and a pretty little drawer at the top for my jewelry.
It's an antique too, and built so, so SO well. It's heavy! So I was alone when I purchased it and somehow I managed to convince the man who spoke about 5% English to take ME and the DRESSER to my house! And he did, ha ha! So it was delivered straight to my bedroom and here it it. Delivery and dresser for 200- Euro ($270 USD) and so I'm very happy today!
I meant to share with you a rug I found a few weeks ago at a rug store in the city center, I bought it from a nice Turkish man who has family in Istanbul where he sources his rugs. This is a vintage kilim from Turkey. :) I love it, it's wool and very nice against my floors and combined with my new dresser.
Do you like? :) I sure do. My heart is so full of HAPPY today. I have wanted a dresser like this for a very, very long time. And the best thing is that I can use it in the living room or hallway if I ever wanted to move it around because it could easily store china, books, or anything else. I love that it's so flexible since I love to change things around. But, for as long as we live here in this apartment, it will remain my lovely new old dresser.
p.s. that vintage mirror lights up at night... but it's hung too low and so I need to put it elsewhere. the table I had in this spot before was much lower than this dresser. I was going to take it off of the wall for this photo, but it's screwed very tightly into the wall so my husband needs to take care of this later.

so the fabric is looking cute...uh huh, and so's that rug! fits right in with your plum scheme! Good luck with that mirror - I know I'm not alone in having a love/hate relationship with the average German wall! =)
thanks for the share - i'd be happy dancing myself! =)
Such gorgeous fabrics too.

I hope Thorsten likes the dresser too.

I love your style!
Could you tell me, where you bought the kelim? I might be in Hanover in a few weeks and I'm searching for a nice rug. Thank you!
