{inspiration folders}
I spent a little time playing the other night while watching one of my favorite films in French with English subs, called Priceless or the French title Hors de prix. I highly recommend the film, by the way. Lovely. So while watching the film I busily cut images from a stack of magazines that I've been reserving for playtime -- a stack of mostly design mags from the U.S. and Germany. I enjoy putting tear sheets and other papers and a tiny dash of ribbon into basic file folders, I've shared my folders with you before if you recall... (see here).
I like how these came out, the colors from blue to lime to tangerine, all really speak to me right now. I especially love the pretty blouses and sweaters shown, they're from American clothing company J.Crew. I love putting these folders together because they make me happy. That's quite simply the best explanation I can come up with. :) (photos: holly becker)

i know people tend to just post these around their desks, but have you ever thought about framing them and hanging them as a collection?
i could imagine a formalized grouping like that to look nice in a studio. easily changeable too. you're giving me ideas for my new office...

Another colorful French film that was always an inspiration for is 'French Twist' with Spanish actress Victoria Abril.

ever add paint swatches to your collage/idea/files?
The inspiration folders are a great idea. I end up sticking image in little pocket folders but this is a much better way. I can see how useful the tabs would be for organizing. thanks!
