{perfect sunday}

today is a really nice sunday. my husband and i are home in new hampshire. i'm baking quiche for dinner and listening to my new fouls cd. the illustrations inside are lovely, worthy of framing. this is why i still purchase cd's, i treasure ownership of them in a way that the mp3 generation just doesn't 'get'. i'd love to see a movement begin where musicians commission more and more artists for original covers and inserts, maybe even include small prints inside... get the under 25 crowd back into cds again. ditch the stupid plastic jewel cases and use paper like this new one from the fouls so nicely shows. so, so nice. and the music is the best. so peppy and la-la-la. that's the only way i can describe it. very summer-ish. my sweet husband gave me peonies in the most lovely pink today. how beautiful. we went for dinner with friends in boston last night so a lazy sunday at home felt like the way to end the weekend. ah sundays at home... fresh cut peonies, the smell of dinner cooking, the sound of some pretty amazing band coming out of my speakers, windows open after a light rain shower... can this not be the perfect sunday? at least for me. what are you doing today? {photos by holly becker for haus maus)

goody - i totally know what you mean. i only download mp3's when i do not want to purchase an entire cd because perhaps i only want one song off of it. in every other case i always buy the cd. you do miss out on so much when you only buy mp3s, not to mention you LOSE everything if your iPod screws up like mine recently did and i lost 400 songs.

Those peonies are gorgeous- I have peony bushes from my grandmother's house that are over 100 years old, but in the Midwest they will not bloom for another month or so. I can hardly wait!! Looking forward to your tales of Germany.
