{vintage mugs}

I have a thing for mugs. I have a thing for art. And chairs. Okay and lamps. I also love mirrors. And pillows. So I guess if I was told that I could only have 6 things to decorate a room I would select a chair, a piece of art, a lamp, a mirror, a pillow and a pretty mug to drink from. It's really that simple. These things I truly, truly love.

New Old Mugs from a friend

In fact, I am currently looking to sell some pillows, art, mirrors, lamps, mugs and chairs because well... I have too many and it's time for the annual Holly sale where I take my storage room and clean it out from things I've collected over the past year since my last sale. My neighbors expect my sales each year, they come early, they hang out with me, and they clean me out each and every time for the past six years. They call them the 'decorator sale' because they know what to expect -- everything for the home. But this year, in fact never ever, will I be selling these four mugs pictured above though. Why? Because they just arrived today from my friend Alex in California and I love them so much. Are they not darling? So perky and bright! I may not drink from them though, I'd rather use them on a shelf in my office for markers, pens, pencils and crayons -- the crayons for when my friends come by with their kids, the markers, pens and pencils for playtime of my own. ;) Thank you Alex, I love them honey! Who wouldn't want to cuddle up with a nice cup of tea with these... so bright and cheery and the vintage pattern is divine, even if you don't plan to drink out of them. I have not seen the new Erin McMorris fabrics in person yet, but they sure give one something to drool about.

Ooo, I would definitely use those for display instead of drinking! Why hide them in a cupboard? Lovely.

Hi Holly, I just discovered your blog and love your style. I am from NH too and always get excited when I happen upon someone else in blog land who is local. I live on the Seacoast of NH. If you are ever in the area give me a call it would be fun to meet for coffee or join me at my art studio for a creative play date.
