{other living room}

did i ever show you my living room in new hampshire, the home where i live for most of the year when i'm not here in germany? i thought you'd enjoy a glimpse of it. the only thing that i removed is the carpet, you may notice in the 2nd image that it is gone. i thought i'd like the look of a rug on top of my berber carpeting but i did not so this rug is rolled up and in storage. other than that, this room is pretty much the same. i thought you'd have fun comparing the differences to my german living room. definitely a difference, don't you think? the eating nook in my kitchen, the light was so bright this day... sorry it's a bit blinding i know... about the house in nh: it's about 900 sq foot and is an 1875 carriage house. you can view photos of the yard here, it's really gorgeous, complete with a old wooden shed a goldfish pond, and a larger pond with our resident blue heron. Both your homes are so gorgeous! I can tell that your NH house is your style, yet it's so different from your German flat.

Is that an upholstered Cherner in the last photo??? Love it. As well as the rest of your place.

I love your other home Holly. It's very different but your own personal style still shines through. You have such a gift for treasure hunting. xx

How fun to see your other living room! It's just as lovely as your Germany home, but it's definitely fun to see the differences. I like the little pops of color!

Holly--your New Hampshire home is one of the most precious places I´ve ever seen. It looks fit for a hobbit to live in. Out of a story book.
Both of your homes make me want to have a nice cup of tea while watching the fire. So warm and inviting!

It's always funny to see things I own in other people's houses--that little white owl, the Julia Rothman print...

Oh your so lucky with these two amazing homes! You did a great job (not that I expected anything else) and you must have a huge art-collection alltogether...

You are so lucky to have two beautiful homes!

Congrats for all of your hard work! :)
From what I can see, I like the rug! Is it from Dash & Albert? I saw a blue diamond twill rug of theirs in a decorating mag a few months ago and decided I just "have to have it!" But I settled for a large inexpensive plain blue cotton rug from Ikea instead. It now covers most of the cheap beige wall-to-wall carpet in my living room (we rent, so I can't rip the beige out!)

So nice! I love the crispness of the Bertoia chair against the blue + the wood of the sideboard (which, incidentally, I think we may have the same one! does yours say Nils Jonsson inside it? it looks so similar to ours ^_^ ... )
