{hello haus mice!}

Hello my little haus mice! :) I hope you are doing good. I've been so busy with life in Germany and I feel so badly for not being regular with blogging on haus maus. I will be better about this as I leave Germany in 3 1/2 weeks and won't return until May, so I'm going to write as much as I can on here until I leave - promise. I'll still maintain this blog while I'm in America, but it will be more about my life over there in New Hampshire so no worries, I'll still be around. Then in May I'll be back in Germany for several months and I'll be back to blogging more then. So much to talk about! By now I'm sure you are positively sick of seeing my house, but I love my little apartment so very much... I enjoy every square meter of this place! It makes me happy when I open my eyes each moment and see my surroundings along with the green pines outside of my living room window. Very happy to see such natural beauty combined with an interior that really reflects who I am, at least who I am on a budget. If I had more money I could really deck this place out but it's a vacation home so I'm not in a place financially to spend loads of cash on it. Good news is though that in 2010 we're going to buy a large apartment here in a Jugenstil style building from the 1800's, high ceilings, real wood floors, transom windows, a balcony, you name it - I'm going all out on the next apartment. :) Okay so here are some images of my place that I recently took. You can look through them and tell me what you think if you'd like. I still need to decorate my bedroom, it's so white and boring, but I love my living room. :) So much. It's like a little dollhouse in here. Here are some glimpses into my home. This is a vintage stool from the Netherlands, I keep it in the kitchen to sit on to sip coffee in the morning as I have tea and look out of the window. I cannot fit the matching table in here that I purchased so it's in my bedroom and will be relocated into the basement for now. Boo hoo. It's the cutest table too. I also have the same roman shade in this kitchen as I have in the living room. Not on purpose, the company sent me 4 shades instead of 2 (I wrote to tell them of the error and paid for all 4 so I kept them of course). I like it in the kitchen as I don't need privacy in this room as night so the sheer shade doesn't bother me. I also like that it still lets in plenty of light during the day. Here's a little arrangement that I put together for my window in the living room. I'm obsessed with Ostheimer wood animals, I want ALL OF THEM. Time to make babies. The apples are from La Pomme on Etsy, I blogged about them here. I found the tiny pine cone in the forest nearby. The print is from Etsy but I have no clue who did it, my brain fails me right now. It was a gift and I just love it. Notice the snow in the pines? We had snow on Friday night and again yesterday evening and today. It's quite lovely. This is the view from where I sit on the sofa. I sat in this spot last night and this is what I saw, a deep blue sky, pine silhouettes, and flickering candles. I was listening to A Fine Frenzy for the hundredth time and snapping some photos to remember the moment. Here's the lovely vintage German ceramic clock (Max Bill Bauhaus Design) that I blogged about here, I won it on ebay.de and it's absolutely the sweetest and most useful thing as it has a timer. My stove does not have one so this clock was installed low so I can use the timer - which I use daily. Here's the most recent view of my living room, I took this photo today just for you. I love the blue light, it's wonderful. In New Hampshire the light tends to be very creamy/yellow. I prefer blue light personally.

and more... This was made by me. :) I've been trying to get into being crafty lately... I need to make time for this. I've been so neglectful of sewing, painting, MAKING THINGS in general and I'm really upset with myself for not being more creative with my hands. This is what I will change this because I'm only working until end of business on Wednesday then I'm taking Thursday and Friday off to fire up my sewing machine, finish some projects around the house, and make some more mini paintings to give to my friends, just like this one. And though I'm still waiting for this vintage teapot to arrive from Australia (made in Japan), don't you adore this elephant? I sure do. $15! (images from holly becker for haus maus)
