{living room shades - installed!}

tah-da! my husband was so kind as to hang my shades about 15 minutes ago so i must share while there is still a bit of daylight outside. here they are... after weeks of nothingness... i'm so happy with them. simplicity. aw, it's a nice thing. they are the perfect width and length, it took me a 8 weeks to find the perfect fit as i wasn't too keen on making them given my lack of time (and patience) to devote several days to a project like this. and my windows are weird dimensions. plus i've never made shades before and you know being that i'm so busy on other things in my home i just couldn't justify hand making them.
and here they are closed. duh, you knew that, right?!
i just LOVE the pattern, plain white would have been so boring and black would have been too well, BLACK... (I had considered either heavy cotton black shades or lavender silk shantung drapes.) i'm glad that in the end, i went with my gut feeling and purchased these. with shipping they both came to 91- Euro which is affordable considering how expensive curtains are in general over here. sheesh. what do you think? please excuse the mess on the floor, i'm awaiting my new coffee table (it arrives on thursday) so the center of the living room is a little chaotic. xo holly (images from holly becker for haus maus)

Love them! I like how they just slightly filter the light and don't completely block it out. Great choice!

very light and airy - perfect sheers! The pattern is just enough. I have to admit the idea of lavender silk shantung was intriguing though, maybe in another room....?

Pretty! Even though they are simple, they definitely "finish" the room.

These are so pretty... it looks there are two there, right? Does this company ship to the US or do you know of any company in the US that sells anything similar?
the simple look of it is what I enjoy the most! so pretty .

Good god, I am having trouble breathing imagining what kind of reality you live in seeing that you are talking about there being a mess on your floor in those pictures.
