I've very honored and happy to be part of an article in the April 2010 issue of Myself magazine (Conde Nast publication in Germany for women) featuring 3 bloggers, Judith O'Reilly (Wife in the North), Nicole Stitch (whom I'm a huge fan of, she authors Delicious Days) and then me and my blog -- decor8. Haus Maus was also mentioned. The article is called, "Mein Leben im Blog", which means roughly, my life on a blog. It is very positive and I really appreciate the care and attention that the writer put into composing it. I have an entire page to myself (p.52) which is quite exciting with a photo taken last month here in my flat where I work each day.
Some highlights from this article include: My husband, Thorsten, is mentioned in the final paragraph and how we met online. I love when writers include my husband because I believe that behind every successful person there is another person of equal value, sometimes greater value, who supports them. I also love seeing my words in bold, red text in the upper right hand corner,
"Ich habe nich auf den richtigen Moment gewartet, sondern einfachlosgelegt."
In English this means, I didn't wait for the right moment, I just started."
I think that statement sums up how I approach many things in my life and so I'm pleased that this point really stands out.
Thank you Marlene for the interview and for preparing such a great article -- and also for making a dream come true for me. When I moved to Germany in August 2009 I set a goal to be featured in a magazine here but was uncertain as to how to go about it. Then Marlene contacted me, out of the blue, and made my dream a reality and for this, I am very grateful.

Congratulations. Would love to read the article but alas I don't speak German. Is there any chance you will put it on Decor8 for all of us to read?

Congrats Holly!!!
Awesome, Holly! The picture is gorgeous and I'm sure the article is great, too. Really happy you shared this with us.

Congratulations Holly!
Congratulations Holly! So well deserved! I am very excited for you, and a full page. Wonderful. I love what you said about their mention of Thorsten because I totally agree with you. Having a partner that is a friend and emotional support is invaluable in life. We are both so fortunate.
Best wishes to both of you,
Sondra
Congratulations Holly - on a fantastic articles + a dream come true :)
I love what you said about your husband, so true that often we neglect to highlight the unseen support and sometimes force behind someone. I feel my husband helps me soar to greater heights than I ever could alone - so happy to hear yours does too!
- wishing you a happy day! xo
Congrats! Well deserved!
Congratulations! How exciting!!!
Congratulations:)
Now I have to tell my mum to buy me a magazine so I can read it when I move back to Germany in July^^
Hi Holly - congratulations, you achieved your goal very quickly! Did they interview you in German or translate it? Glad you had fun at the radio station too.
Congrats! Look at you go! Did you ever imagine that you would be where you are today!?
Great photo! Interesting mix of German and English on the cover. Is this standard?
Congratulations, well deserved! :-)
Congrats!
I bought myself yesterday, it's one of my favorite magazines. Loved the article, and the picture is very pretty!
Congrats you earned it!

Congratulations! That is wonderful! I wish I could get a copy. Looks like a great magazine.
congratulations! Thank you for sharing this today.
That so neat, Holly. I love how mutually supportive your marriage is - you guys are a such a cute couple.
Congrats Holly, how fulfilling to have reached this place with something you are so passionate about! I don't think I can acquire a copy in Canada, would you consider posting the article translated for any of us poor souls who might not get a chance to read it?- I would love to share in your joy!
Congratulations! You are such an inspiration!
Really nice article :-)
"I believe that behind every successful person there i"
I don't think so. Or - sometimes yes and sometimes no. I know many successful persons being single. Away from family. Or so on...I guess, for success it is important to love what you do. This alone will be enough.
Oh my! Congrats, Holly! This is so awesome!! I love the photo too - you look so stylish and successful (which you both are:) I am really happy when others notice talented and hard-working people like you, it is so inspiring!
p.s. I met my boyfriend online too:)) We've been together for over two years now :)
Holly, I just saw your post! And I'm so happy you like how the article turned out and looked in the magazine. I don't know what it's like for other writers, but I often find it strange to get a glimpse into people's lives and then have to turn it into a whole picture for the readers. So I'm glad you feel I picked out a few things that are important to you. Oh, and also: I should probably say I like doing my job regardless of praise. But that would be a lie. Love the praise! Thank you, it's made my day.
Hi Holly
Were you able to read the whole article yourself, now that your German is progressing?
Congratulations, very inspiring you are.
Di xx
Congrats on achieving another goal. You always seem so photogenic too :)
