{living room shades - installed!}
tah-da! my husband was so kind as to hang my shades about 15 minutes ago so i must share while there is still a bit of daylight outside. here they are... after weeks of nothingness...
i'm so happy with them. simplicity. aw, it's a nice thing. they are the perfect width and length, it took me a 8 weeks to find the perfect fit as i wasn't too keen on making them given my lack of time (and patience) to devote several days to a project like this. and my windows are weird dimensions. plus i've never made shades before and you know being that i'm so busy on other things in my home i just couldn't justify hand making them.
i just LOVE the pattern, plain white would have been so boring and black would have been too well, BLACK... (I had considered either heavy cotton black shades or lavender silk shantung drapes.) i'm glad that in the end, i went with my gut feeling and purchased these. with shipping they both came to 91- Euro which is affordable considering how expensive curtains are in general over here. sheesh.
what do you think? please excuse the mess on the floor, i'm awaiting my new coffee table (it arrives on thursday) so the center of the living room is a little chaotic.

so pretty. i like the pattern and love the soft effect that sheer fabric gives.
your floor does not look chaotic at all!
