{i won! i won!}
I created a Germany eBay account and I won! I won! My first eBay Germany purchase! See....
It's called "Omas Küchenschrank" (translated: Grandma's Kitchen Buffet or Cabinet), and it's from the 1950s. It was only 333,33 Euro but with shipping I think I have to add another 200 Euros... But it's being delivered this Sunday by truck from the south of Germany so I'm thrilled that it will arrive so quickly. This will be placed on one side of the kitchen and the new IKEA kitchen will go on the other wall. I know, sounds weird but it will all work on in the end, I have faith! I cannot wait until IKEA arrives tomorrow and then Sunday my küchenschrank. I plan to wallpaper inside the glass cabinet in the middle and in the closed cabinets keep all of my food and things I don't want out on the open shelving over my sink. It's absolutely perfect for the price so I'm quite pleased with it. I'll show you the photos next week when it arrives, okay!? The seller was SO nice, he already left me with positive feedback and sent an email stating that he cleaned it out really well and cleaned the outside too and that it's in excellent condition so I'm quite pleased. I'm already imagining some of my things inside of the glass shelf and on top of the unit. It's exciting! Yay!
Oh and GUESS WHO found it? Yup. My husband. I told him what I was looking for and he called me over to his computer, pointed to it, and said, "Is this what you mean?", and I said yes and we immediately purchased it. I love my husband.
And now I'm already making plans to spruce it up... I can already see a cute wallpaper inside the glass cabinet, new knobs and handles, and of course I have to see what the 'counter' is made of but if I can paint it, I will most likely do that in white. It feels REALLY GOOD to see everything coming together now.

I personally think, if it's solid wood, it would look great with a walnut stain to contrast with the painted cabinet.
This is lovely. It fits your style. If you have a dark counter I would leave the counter dark, that would be a reallt nice match. What kind of knobs ou thinking of? I wloud put some nice white porcelain ones on it, maybe with some brass or antique silver!
I love ebay! We also have a local thing called vatera.hu. That is fun too!
I can't wait to see the results!
Looks really great.
