{So Far So Good}
Yay! Our washing machine arrived today along with our white Samsung 32" LCD television. This is so great as I really enjoy curling up on the sofa now and then to watch Bones DVDs or some of my favorite movies (About a Boy, Mostly Martha, Amelie). And in one hour the IKEA truck will arrive with our goodies! Our friends are coming by later this afternoon to help us put together our wardrobe and entertainment center since those things take forever. My husband and I can manage putting together the desk and ALEX drawers ourselves. We started putting up the curtain rods today but keep hitting brick and concrete so we have to run to Obi (Home Depot-ish store) to buy 50mm screws. We have every single other size except 50 mm. It's always this way! After our IKEA goodies arrive, my MIL will have lunch prepared (asia stir fry) and we'll go next door to eat at her house. It was so thoughtful of her to offer us lunch today. She is a good mom. :)
Well... I'm off to help Thorsten install the washing machine. It's so cute, it's not like the mega jumbo appliances in the states, it's petite but a powerful little guy with all these settings and words I've never seen in my life but will soon need to learn in order to operate this thing!
See you soon...

HOPE TO SEE YOU IN BERLIN SOON!
LINDA
Thanks for the perky perspective of how "cute" the washing machines are here in Germany. I will try to think of that as I do the 11th load of laundry today, which would only take 2 loads and 1/100 of the time in America...we have 3 little kids, so the laundry is never ending for us.
Happy Ikea-building day!
