{photos!}
i promised i'd share photos of my progress so i took a few this morning after i relaxed on the sofa with breakfast and amelie. :) i'm going to a flower show/garden party (no clue what it is or what to expect) with my family so i can't blog long... but here are some photos of my new pax wardrobe and of the living room which is a long way from finished but for now, you can get an idea of where i'm going. THE SOFA TABLE IS NOT STAYING. It is a 'borrowed' piece from a friend. I'm ditching it asap for a vintage modern wood table that is low and perfect for the space.
first up, the pax wardrobe. this is my side. :) this is in our bedroom.
this is the living room. left side. and below is the right side. the sofa is the kalstad from ikea, the entertainment center is the besta burs from ikea and it is AMAZING. wow. just like a ligne roset piece. the chrome sofa table and the wood chairs are loaners from friends. we will be replacing them with our own furniture which i'm currently shopping for. the rug is from ikea and the pillow on the sofa is from a company in munich called TAJ. if anyone wants the information, let me know. i had to buy ONE pillow to give the room a little life until i have everything together. the throw on the back of the sofa is some new one i found at ikea. it's very unique and adds some texture.
the lamp on the entertainment center is from danielle's online shop LE SOUK and the televison is a 32" samsung from amazon. the phones and our region free dvd player is all in white and also from amazon. here in germany whatever you order from them arrives in less than a few days free shipping. it's great. the tall mirror is from ikea and the lights around it are from a local shop in hannover called riva (where i also found that pillow on my sofa).
I'm off for the night and tomorrow we have a family cookout in the country, so i'm offline until sunday evening. i'll have some bedroom photos for you maybe tomorrow night so stay tuned!
i hope you like my little living room! :)

You've already done a lot of work. I love the lamp. Much to my surprise I found that the shop is located in my homecountry.
Have a nice weekend.
Bye,
Marianne.
The windows in the living room made me smile, some things are just SO Germanic, I've yet to see them anywhere other than Germany or Austria, but there they are in every single apartment I've been in. I wish we had such windows here in France, great way to open the windows without letting the cats out!
I totally get it about the Pax closet, I negotiate a lot with my husband and it IS important to listen and let go sometimes...
He did the whole Ikea kitchen on his own too and it makes me love the kitchen even more because of that!
Have a nice week-end.
Have a great weekend!
haben ein tolles Wochenende!

I love your lamp!
I'm in the process of furnishing a new apartment (much like you!) and I'm strongly considering the Kalstad. How is it treating you? Is it comfortable? That's my main concern at the moment, since it looks great and seems to work in the space.

I mean seeing that just makes me wanna paint everything I own in that shade of white. Love it!
But see Im a small space person. I;d rather have a cozy pretty small place then a mansion.
Good job Holly :)
happy shopping,

I'm actually an American living in Europe for the next several months also! I'm in Sweden on an exchange for a semester, so I am trying to pretty up my apartment, but I can't really do much, since I'm leaving so soon. Someday I would love to do what you and your husband are doing. Good luck! (If you're interested, I am blogging about my experiences abroad, too).
Thanks and awesome job on your apartment!
