{i know what i said}

i know how i said a few days ago that i was first going to focus on my kitchen, but without the measurements i'm sort of stuck. very stuck. my husband will contact the property manager to see if they can send them over to us this week. oh boy will i love to get those plans in hand. i live for floor plans. when i was little i would beg my mother to take me to model homes in new communities just so i could walk through them and take the floor plans when i left. i'd go home with my markers and pencils and redesign the house using the plans and show my parents how 'i would have done it'. i even purchased those bible-thick floor plan magazines and, using graph paper, i'd alter and even design my own dream floor plan. this wasn't just a 'phase'. i did this for pretty much my entire childhood from age 8 and up. i still do it. this is why i need floor plans. soon. i have to know the dimensions in order to design a space. i love poggenpohl, one of my favorite kitchen designers in germany, but their prices make me a little nervous. very nervous. so ikea will most likely win out over dreamy poggenpohl. i love ikea but everyone has it in europe so i need to think of a way to have ikea in my kitchen but still feel very holly style. i think wallpaper will accomplish that. i'm pretty much sold on the yellow cole & son cow parsley. i think yellow and white in a kitchen is just dreamy. i also imagine all white ceramic dinnerware stacked on open shelving. but i also imagine mismatched china in teals, pinks, yellows, blues... this is my constant battle. clean and modern vs. bohemian and romantic. white ceramic vs. dainty floral china.
