Hello! Haus Maus is a little nickname given to me by my German husband because I'm a real lover of all things domestic (except cooking and baking - never got into that so much!). But wait, excuse me, let me introduce myself.

My name is Holly Becker and I'm Haus Maus, the girl behind this blog, and it is here that I talk about my expat life living in Hannover, Germany. I'm American, I come from Boston though I grew up on the lovely coast of South Carolina. In addition to writing on this blog, I'm also the founder/editor of decor8 and Blogging Your Way AND I'm a bestselling book author and interiors stylist. I'm really excited to brag a little because my life wasn't always so exciting. After 10 years in the corporate world doing a job that made me feel like my life was going nowhere, I gave up what felt comfortable and decided to go for what would make me truly HAPPY. I returned to uni and changed careers, leaving behind my job in management to pursue my dreams and well, everything worked out - I actually can't believe it!

Today, I'm living a life that feels "right" for me and through my work, I get to do what I love the most: inspire others through my life and example to live a more creative, happier and meaningful life, too. 

My husband Thorsten and I relocated from Boston to his hometown of Hannover, Germany in August 2009 and this blog shares my many expat adventures.
